NZ

21stdec

departure, late night, ate in the air asia flight, when arrived it was around 2 to 3pm, so we had a good rest in the flight. If you plan to cook in NZ, do remember to bring along ready packed instant curry, tom yam, asam pedas, and rice or wtv you want. Avoid bringing any meat or any fresh products as they are very strict with this issue. Remember to bring one or two empty plastic bottles so that you can use it to wash yourself in the toilet.

stayed one night in Christchurch in Earnslaw Motel in Blenham Road

bought groceries and halal meat from halal butcher which is a around 5 min walk from the hotel.

Halal meat is not available in Qs so planned to bring the meat there to cook (caravan provided fridge and freezer)

Cooked in the 2 bedroom apartment which provided a full kitchen

----

depart by caravan (KiwiCampers) which we rented online for 6 people.

About three hour journey to Oamaru, stayed in one of the Top Ten Holiday Park. (www.top10.co.nz)

How was it?

Alhamdulillah, provided common kitchen and bath, very clean, beautiful place, able to cook rice and meat dish. We held back from using the caravan toilet as advised by the caravan staff so that we wouldn’t need to clear the toilet tank before returning the caravan back. We usually used the common kitchen at the holiday park as it would less of a hassle to clean up. We mostly used the caravan to sleep in and used the fridge to keep food supply.

Went to see the blue penguin around maghrib (around 9), it was nice, very cold eventhough it was summer, we went to see the penguin by caravan on our own to the location. Joining a tour would be expensive.

There are also rooms that can be rented which you book online in advance. Slept in the caravan since we are paying about rm800/day.

----------

depart to Queenstown.

The drive to Qs was beautiful! The shops close around 5pm but you’ll be able to find some groceries that close later such Night&Day and Freshchoice.

We stayed in a three bedroom apartment with full kitchen at Ridges(don’t remember that well)

Apartment was wonderful which provided washing machine and dryer.

We took a drive to town which was a less 10 minutes drive and did window shopping.

We cooked dinner at the apartment.

---

In the morning, we went on the gondola and on the Luge ride, (remember that all these rides and games are very expensive. You would be able to skip the gondola ride and go for a hike uphill or downhill which is beautiful! for free!)

After that we packed food and the clothes needed for a one day trip to Te Anau.

Te Anau is famous for Glowworm Cave and Milford Sound. At the holiday park, you’ll be able to book your tours at the holiday park office but remember to book ahead.

We went to the Top Ten Holiday Park and stayed for the night.

We walked around Lake Te Anau around sunset.

----

We went for to a Honey and Alpaca Farm Tour in Te Anau which is around 80nz/pp.

It was very enjoyable. Barbara who was the owner of the farm was very warm.

We went for the Glowworm Cave in the afternoon by boat and the view was stunning. We didn’t go to Milford Sound which was around three hour journey by boat and it was fully booked and we planned to go back to Qs on that day.

Arrived in Qs in evening, cooked dinner and slept.

--

Went for Ziptrek (which was something like skytrex in kl – flying fox from one tree to another). The Ziptrek was up on the hill which was near the Luge.

--

tak pasti but rasanya we went jalan-jalan around Qs on this day.

--

We left for Christchurch, on the way we went to AJ Hacket Bungy Jumping.

We took a different route on the way there, we passed Fairlie, Mount Hutt.

We decided to stay at the motel just next door to the one we stayed in previously in Christchurch on blenheim road because they had wifi etc.

--

We returned the caravan and rented a car and went for a day trip Akoroa.

Akoroa is very a cute little town previously colonized by the French and the British.

Went for the jet boat here because it much more cheaper compared to the one Queenstown.

Returned back to Chc.

---

went to the zoo which was near the airport. It drizzling slightly and it was quite chilly. My mama like the zoo.

Since the halal butcher store near Bleinham Road was closed, you can go to Lincoln Street to get our halal meat.

That night we left for KL.
